Citizen education, which is the only way to improve the citizens’ quality and promote themodernization of our country, is to cultivate the independence of personality. It is full ofpioneering, enterprising and innovative spirit of modern education. After the new curriculumreform, the middle school history education of our country is becoming more and morecomprehensive. To penetrate the citizen education in history teaching, guide and train middleschool students grow into qualified socialist citizen is the call of The Times and history newcurriculum reform demands.This paper starting from the perspective of the history, combing the characteristics andadvantages of history with the middle school history teaching, explores the theory of citizeneducation in middle school. Except the introduction and conclusion, the article a total is dividedinto four chapters:First chapter content for the definition, mainly around the "citizens" and "civil education"two concepts defined and discussed respectively;The second chapter content from the new curriculum reform requirements and thedevelopment and growth of middle school students need two dimensions, analyzes the developand implement in middle school history teaching, the necessity of civic education;Content in the third chapter to the present China’s qualified citizens shall have the qualitiesrequired as a starting point and focus, to explore and identify the important content of citizeneducation in middle school history teaching, including the consciousness of citizenship, rightsand responsibility consciousness, consciousness of democracy and the rule of law;The fourth chapter emphasis on content and the analysis of the implementation of civiceducation in middle school history teaching strategy. This chapter content based on the conceptof new curriculum reform, many classroom teaching design and practice case to illustrateanalysis and explanation, summarizes and induces the historical discipline and other disciplinecan reference when carry out citizen education has the general regularity of the strategy.
