In the junior middle school geometry teaching, the author found that a few students in learning when to find a way, distinguishing figure, knowledge chart, to figure, drawing ability is poorer, for graphics or similar topics, students often the topic is not clear or mind-set of mistake. How to avoid or reduce these errors, improve the efficiency of the classroom and the students’mathematics performance, developing students’ability in mathematics?Variant teaching integrates the main characteristic of mathematics teaching in China, as a kind of widely used teaching means and teaching ideas have deep into the mathematics teaching activity. In this paper, using literature analysis method for variant, mathematical variable type, variable type teaching, defining the basic concepts such as graphics, and the application of variable type teaching in junior middle school geometry theory to conduct a comprehensive system of comb, overview the meaning of variant teaching and teaching principles, and organizing the domestic and foreign scholars to the variable type teaching study. Then according to the teaching contents of junior middle school geometry as well as the students in the typical errors in learning teaching practice research. And variant from the concept of mathematics, mathematics process change type, mathematics application form several aspects combining with the teaching case analysis, through interviews, tests or homework feedback to feedback of teaching effect, showed the feasibility of using variable type teaching. Finally, combining the study put forward Suggestions on teaching junior high school plane geometry variant, pointed out in this paper, the research limitations and the future can be the direction of further research.Practice shows that in the junior middle school geometry teaching, the proper use of variant teaching can inspire students’ interest in learning mathematics, improve the efficiency of the classroom and student achievement, at the same time also can develop students’ mathematical ability, cultivate their good quality of thinking.
