In-class note-taking strategy is an important learning strategy in Senior High-school biology learning process. Learning strategy is the awareness of knowledge obtained, the invocation of learning methods and the regulation of learning process.Note-taking strategy is learner’s processing of knowledge with the guidance of metacognition strategy.The application of note-taking strategy helps students to keep marks in books, which will promote students’ recall and conception. Meanwhile, students’ filing notes process will help them to review knowledge systematically, inner connection among knowledge points will be established, which will help rebuild the conception.This study applies Learning and Study Strategies Inventory (LASSI-HS),and makes some modification in accordance with the specialty of biology subject.200 Grade 1 students in Senior High are surveyed. The study shows that:(1)Senior High students have a traditional and unitary way of taking notes, and lack techniques in note processing;(2)students in interest class and parallel class have difference in willpower, time management, information processing, students in interest class have obvious advantage over others in note-taking strategy.(3)on the matter of attention issue, students in interest class have better learning ability, they can comprehend while taking notes;(4)on time management, students in interest class arrange review session better.(5)on information processing, students in interest class file diaries at regular intervals, and have better processing while filing.The following suggestions are provided according to this study(1)Teachers should give enough buffering time for students when tutoring note-taking strategy, and elaborate blackboard design, to make it brief, straight and focused;(2)teachers should guide students to take note in different ways based on different types of lesson, including new lesson, experimental lesson, exercise lesson and review lesson;(3)teachers should focus on students’ processing and filing of in-class notes, with the consideration of the specialty of each student, proper tutoring way should be put forward.
