Secondary vocational school education assumes the task to cultivate primary productivityand Laborers are the important foundation of economic and social development, which requiresvocational school graduates to possess certain labor skills, self-learning ability andcollaborative awareness. Therefore, the teaching mode in vocational school ought to accord withstudents’ employment needs while students’ quality of collaboration and inquiry should befostered in teaching process.With the popularity of information technology course in secondary vocational schools,there appears quite a few problems in teaching. The students, having certain weariness, lackinitiative in learning due to their different levels and repetitive learning. Hence theurgent problems in information technology teaching are focusing on how to implementhigh-leveled teaching and how to increase students’ interests and efficiency in learning.The college graduates are now facing a grim employment situation, which is even grimmerfor secondary vocational school graduates because of their lower educational attainment.Therefore, vocational school teaching ought to be occupation-based and employment-oriented toprovide the students with specific training to meet the actual needsof socio-occupational status.“Do-Learn-Redo” Teaching Model, which is based onjob requirements, encourages students to get more interested in innovation and practice, and thusenhances their practical ability.According to the actual situation and characteristics of vocational school and its students,it’s necessary to innovate the traditional way of teaching information technology.“Do-Learn-Redo” Model, which is combined with traditional teaching mode effectively, is asuitable way for the vocational school students in learning information technology.This thesis makes an exploration of information technology teaching in secondaryvocational school by combined use of experimentation and questionnaire and discusses theapplication of “Do-Learn-Redo” Model, which is based on constructivism theory, byillustrating the design and implementation of each teaching procedure.The study of “Do-Learn-Redo” Model and its application proves it makes a positive impact in information technology teaching for it suits the vocational students and it can stimulate theirlearning interests.“Do-Learn-Redo” Model can improve the students’ practical ability andenable them to firmly grasp the theoretical knowledge. Meanwhile,“Do-Learn-Redo” Model isconducive to cultivating students’ team spirit and enhancing their vocational quality andproficiency.
