The innovation of the teaching materials for the primary and secondary schools is the important issue of the whole basic education development, as the important links, the research and construction of Chinese textbook for high schools play more and more important roles, especially under the background of teaching reformation of the New Curriculum. When we are faced with the following conditions, like the frameworks of the teaching materials become more complicated after many revisions and the compiling becomes more difficult, the textbook diverges from the characteristics of Chinese and the cognitive laws of students; it has certain of current significance to look closely at the frustration of Chinese textbook since one century,learn these successes from it and carry on the comparative study between Chinese textbook and foreign language textbook with an developing crossover-view.The Chinese Textbook of New Curriculum Reform of Shanghai( published by Shanghai Education Publishing House in May, 2009, which will hereafter be referred to as the Shanghai Education Edition) and the book version of Singapore Marshall Cavendish Chinese Language for Secondary Schools Higher Chinese Textbook( which is published in October, 2013 by Marshall Cavendish Education Publishing Ltd.) are used as cases studies in this thesis.This thesis does a static comparative study from the microcosmic point of view,analyzes each characteristic and defines the difference and the sameness of these two textbooks. Basing on these, it provides the advice in optimizing and perfecting the native Chinese textbook.Firstly, this paper analyzes the major background of composing of these two editions—the developing outline of Sino-Singapore mother-tongue textbooks,discusses the different curriculum standard, takes it as the cultural background and the theoretical basis of comparison on teaching materials.Secondly, take the two version of the compiling system as the breakthrough point. In vertical direction, it analyzes the context of the Shanghai Education Edition and the book version of Singapore Marshall Cavendish Edition. In horizontal direction, it analyzes the content of these two textbooks carefully, take the text system,the exercises system and material system(which help students understand the text) as an example.Finally, this paper discusses the enlightenment of the book version of Singapore Marshall Cavendish Edition to the compiling of Shanghai Education Edition’s senior Chinese textbook or other local Chinese teaching materials, from the aspects of establishing the huge Chinese learning atmosphere, the harmonious coexistence of ethnic culture and multiculturalism the promotion of literary education combined with reading education, attaching great importance to the integration of traditional experiences and modern life.
