Beginning in 2000, OECD has launched Pisa test, mathematics reading is like English, Chinese reading, has been paid more and more attention of the researchers and teachers. Mathematics reading, not only reflected in the examination and frequent examination in recent years, more important is reflected in the need of social production continue to "mathematics, digital".In the reform of a new round of "mathematics curriculum standards" in many references reading, in the city of Shanghai primary and middle school mathematics "course standard" in the "target", students are required to have the basic ability of reading, expression and operation. Therefore, it is necessary for us to strengthen the importance of mathematics reading.This paper is divided into four parts, the first part elaborated the selected topic background, significance, research ideas and methods, and some theories related to this paper; The second part of the school grade seven students of mathematics reading survey, and survey analysis; The third part, on the basis of investigation and analysis, put forward the research and practice of cultivating junior high school students mathematics reading ability; The fourth part of the evaluation process of research, finally puts forward the conclusion and prospect.In the process of practice, the author first identified five principles, based on the five principles were determined on the three main ways for training reading skills: reading in class reading and outside reading and three kinds of transformation in the language of mathematics. In class reading, the teaching material is divided into several types of reading, each type of reading material by the teachers and students’ reflective Association guidance outline, gradually turned into their own knowledge; Extracurricular reading, broaden the horizons of students, to improve mathematics reading interest and motivation; Reading in the process of student, flexible conversion of cultivating three kinds of mathematical language, promote student "s mathematics comprehension, improve thinking. In the process of practice, in order to let more effective mathematical reading, puts forward 5 strategies.After half a year of teaching, the author sums up the general mode of mathematics reading, the different class guidance outline. Among them, new ideas are proposed in this paper is a survey of the students in our school, found that the reading habits and psychological quality is poor, so this paper research methods focus on the cultivation of students’ reading habits and grasp the students’ psychological basis, to improve the students’ reading ability in mathematics.
