High quality video open course program is one of the key content of "Undergraduate teaching quality and teaching reform project in hither institutions" which the ministry of education will continue to implement during the "twelfth five-year" after the national quality curriculum program. It is an important measure for higher institutions to raise their image and perform cultural transmission and social service functions, and for national to response to the cultural pressure of video open course in international famous universities. It is also an era choice for national using network technology environment to maintain fair education and promote lifelong learning. With the deepening construction of high quality video open course, quality and evaluation issues of it draw more and more attention, while the related research is very weak.The article is aim to build proper evaluation indicators of high quality open video course. Firstly, this paper analyzes characteristics of high quality video open course from the perspective of curriculum, teachers and teaching. It finds that:the curriculum have some general characteristics, such as high quality, technology, open sharing, universality, etc; the teachers have some characteristics, such as uneven sex ratio, higher educational and professional title, high-profile, outstanding teaching ability and fruitful research, etc; the content of teaching is rich and reasonable, the teaching mode is traditional, etc. Analyzing the characteristics of high quality video open course lays the foundation for the establishment of evaluation indicators.And then, from the theories of humanism,constructivism and the postmodern curriculum paradigm, using content analysis based on Grounded Theory, this paper combs and analyzes some excellent comments learners shared on icourse website and finds that learners are very concerned about their own learning outcomes, teachers’ personal charm, curriculum contents, teaching methods, video technique, course resources, etc. All this are very useful to the establishment of evaluation indicators.Based on the characteristics of high quality video open course, evaluate arguments of learners, characteristics of excellent university courses and network curriculum, this paper tries to establish evaluation indicators of high quality video open course from six aspects:technology, influence, teachers, curriculum content, teaching method and learners develop, hoping that these thinks can be useful to evaluation of high quality video open course and future research. Revision of the indicators is based on relevant teachers and curriculum experts’ opinions through questionnaire survey. Finally, this paper provides the use notes of indicators and briefly summarizes the research conclusion and deficiencies.
