This paper is finding passion from the folk education experimenter that who devoted to China’s education reform, and absorbing the essence from books of Chinese teacher’s who is working in middle and primary school all over the country. Theoretically follow humanism, based on the common psychological characteristics and personal characteristics of high-grade pupils, exploring high-grade pupils how to use their own discernment and judgment to choose good and favorite out-of-class reading materials with Chinese teacher’s guide and help, and to develop a high-quality reading fun and good reading habits, so then they will have a wonderful childhood experience and pure spiritual world.This paper mainly consists of six chapters:The first chapter discusses the background of this article, the previous studies, research purpose, content and methods. There are often some questions when students, teachers, parents select reading materials in reading materials market. The excellent books have a very important role for the development of students. This paper analysis reading materials selection problems through the investigation about high-grade pupils how to choose out-of-class reading materials in Shanxi Hejin, and propose selective bases and selection strategies, and suggestions for Chinese teachers and parents, schools, and community.The second chapter discusses the present situation of high-grade pupils’ out-of-class reading materials selection. Firstly summary the investigation of high-grade pupils out-class reading materials selection of Shanxi Province, Hejin City, and analysis the survey results from the statistics, then pointing out the selection problems in the survey results. Problems were analyzed and discussed from the students themselves, Chinese teachers, parents, school and community in five areas.The third chapter discusses the bases of high-grade pupils out-of-class reading materials selection. In theory, it based on the concept of humanism psychology and the law of physical and mental development of children, and respect children’s nature development, adapt the common psychological characteristics and personal characteristics of high-grade pupils. They must note the characteristics and matching principles of out-class reading. The fourth chapter discusses the strategy of high-grade pupils reading materials selection. This chapter put forward that the high-grade pupils should follow the "choose the best" strategy in the selection of reading materials, and establish a version of the classic sense and edition awareness, so,the pupil’s interest and need to be combined, curricular and extra-curricular to be combined. And the high-grade pupils need ask teacher, parents and someone who can provide useful advice for help in time.The fifth chapter discusses the method of Chinese teachers guide high-grade pupils to choose reading materials. Chinese teachers have a very important role in the high-grade pupils reading materials selection, their reading habits and interests will directly affect student learning. Chinese teachers should choose a specific, actionable, and effective way to help students such as reading lessons, reading feeling exchanges, build a city reading map and so on.Chapter VI discusses the external environment construction of extracurricular reading materials selection. In addition to teachers, parents, schools and society will have an impact on students’ choice of reading materials, the pupils will choose more better out-of-class reading materials in a good environment of family, school and community. In order to explore the external environment for students to choose reading materials, this chapter proposed the reading environment building of the campus, family and community.The last chapter is the conclusion section. Firstly, re-emphasize the importance of reading excellent books; secondly, the writer call on Chinese teachers to help and guide high-grade pupils to select out-of-class reading materials, the parents need to focus on children’s reading materials, school and community need to create a good reading environment for students, and the students themselves need to learn read independently and to develop a high-quality reading taste; finally, this chapter pointed out the shortcomings of this article, and hope to make up the shortcomings in the future and continue to study to attract more people’s concern for student’s selection of out-of-class reading materials.
