Dewey, a famous education expert has ever said:"Education is life". With the sustainable progress of the new curriculum reform in our country, the significance of history education has been further incorporated in the connotation of life. That is to say, the development of history education is more about the development of man. The selective module of Comments on Historical Figures at Home and Abroad in high school history course, is an important part of the secondary history teaching, whose detailed and vivid description of the experience and the spiritual wisdom of characters is very significant in promoting the formation of outlooks on the world, on life and on values of secondary school students. In history teaching, we should not only focus on the development of the students’ abilities of learning knowledge and training methods, but also pay attention to the cultivation of students’ correct personality and emotional goals. That is the teachers’ special mission given by the charm and appeal of History subject and it also poses higher requirements to the history teachers’ professional knowledge as well as the actual professional operation.Based on more than half a year’s practical teaching experience and two years of theoretical preparation, in the current thesis, the author takes lesson13, Kemal, the Founding Father of Turkey of module3, Bourgeois Politicians in the selection course of Comments on Historical Figures at Home and Abroad as the study object. According to the curriculum standard, the author integrates the teaching materials and the students’ learning situation with the teaching concept centering on personality cultivation to conduct a comprehensive and complete teaching design. And also makes some relevant teaching reflections and recommendations in the final part of this thesis.This thesis consists of three parts:The first part is the introduction, including question raising, the research status and significance of history teaching design. The author is inspired by a recent occurrence to ponder on history education. In this part, the significance of selecting this lesson as the case to illustrate the design will be presented on the basis of the essence of modern history education and the historical analysis of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk’s revolution and reform in Turkey.The second part is about the teaching design of the lesson, Kemal, the Founding Father of Turkey. The whole process of selecting, analyzing, investigating and thinking as well as the details of teaching design of the lesson will be elaborated according to the procedure of History discipline teaching design, respectively from two perspectives of course standards and design concept, including six aspects:the teacher’s preparation, the analysis of students learning situation, the choice of teaching media, the time arrangement of the class, teaching design and teaching reflection.The third part is the author’s ideas and suggestions for the research of this thesis. Through the comprehensive and detailed design of teaching process of Kemal, the Founding Father of Turkey, the author draws some profound reflections though the six-step method of teaching reflection. At the same time, the author offers some suggestions and ideas about how to arouse students’ emotional resonance during similar process of history teaching design with personality as the center.
