The high school student’s academic problem has been one of the most concerned problems of the vast number of educators and parents.Senior middle school students’ learning achievement is affected by many factors. The students’ learning motivation plays a very important role.Learning motivation, which is an internal motivation, is to promote student learning activities, to stimulate and guide students to learn a variety of needs. At present, the research on the learning motivation has covered the stage of basic education, especially for primary and secondary school students in independent study.But the study about high school students alone as the research object, and the learning motivation of the present situation and it’s influence factors from the overall high school students is less.This study first simply reviewed the original learning motivation of theory research and resultsare reviewed, based on the current research on learning motivation of the series.This study used the senior high school students’ learning motivation questionnaire and stratified sampling method.300high school students of three high school in Liaoyang County,Liaoning province were investigated.285valid questionnaires were obtained.The investigation content includes interest motivation, achievement motivation, communication motivation, cognitive motivation, prestige motivation and performance motivation six aspects.Through the study, the result is that learning motivation of high school students has their unique characteristics, which can be reflected in the following:(1)High school students has the lowest interest motivation and cognitive motivation.The first reason is that high school education takes college entrance examination as the main target, teaching contents focus on knowledge, high difficulty, and teaching methods is filled with sea tactics,which weaken the students’ interest motivation.The second is that heavy burden weaken the students’ thirst for knowledge and reduce their cognitive motivation.(2) High school students’communication motivation is the highest. To participate in the students association or to make his appreciation or love students,they will study hard.In order to get more opportunities or contact with the teachers or classmates,they will study hard.(3) High school students’prestige performance and achievement motivation level is higher.Learning is mainly in order to obtain high scores, good prospects, the approval of others and respect which belong to external benefit.This paper analyzes the causes, and attempts to put forwad some learning strategies and recommendations which contain how to cultivate and stimulate the students’ learning motivation from the family, school and students themselves. This study is about the learning motivation of high school students and analysis of the current situation under the new course background,which contains high school students learning motivation factors of systematic and thorough research.The research results not only enriches and develops the theory of learning motivation, but also provide reliable empirical basis to the current teachers to cultivate and stimulate high school students’learning motivation.
