Mathematics is an important fundamental course in secondary vocational school. Itplays a crucial role of all the other professional courses. In order to master andunderstand mathematics teaching in secondary vocational schools this study analyzedfive mathematics teachers totally twenty-five classes using classroom observations,interviews and questionnaire, etc. And this study also discussed teaching aims,organized teaching, taught the concepts, done with the seatwork, used the material, andvaried their way of instruction.The results of this study showed: students could obtain knowledge if the teacherhas well teaching aims, appropriate knowledge, considerate the application inprofessional field and students’ level; flexible class organization and management makestudents master knowledge easily; teachers put hearts on the training of concept andpermeation of mathematics thinking; teachers give choice homework, explain ofthinking method and conclude rules; teachers choose abundant and changeable material;teachers using changeable ways including asking questions and cooperation study toarouse the enthusiasm of participating in interactive learning.Finally, this study put forward teachers should train the ability of application,analysis and solving in secondary vocational school mathematics class. Teachers insecondary vocational school should get familiar with relevant knowledge and cases inthe professional field and can use case study in the class.
