Symphony is a treasure in the world musical heritage and one of the mostexpressive and creative forms in the whole human music history. It is regarded asthe highest form of music art. The birth of symphony objectively reflects thedevelopment peak of the sense of music, thinking creativity and instrumentalexpression of the human kind.Symphony appreciation teaching in senior high schools would broadenstudents’music views and bring their tastes for music to a higher level. It is of greatsignificance to improve students’ comprehensive qualities and establish foundationfor the lifelong development of each student’s musical quality.Combining teaching practices in Dalian102Senior High School where the authorworks, this paper takes “Symphony Appreciation Teaching in Senior HighSchools” as the research direction. The paper analyzes the importance and thepresent situation of symphony appreciation teaching in senior high schools. Puttingforward problems exposed during the teaching, the author tries to introduce somereformed teaching methods and aims to provide teaching experience for symphonyappreciation teaching in high schools.This paper includes introduction, text and conclusion. On the basis ofproposing questions, the introduction part elaborates the significance, aim andresearch methods of the research. The text consists of five parts. The first part setsforth the essentiality of symphony appreciation teaching in senior high schools.The second part makes an analysis on the present situation of symphonyappreciation teaching in senior high schools and proposes wide-spreadingproblems during the teaching. The third part further analyzes the characteristicsand particularities of symphony appreciation teaching in senior high schools. Thefourth part attempts to make some suitable suggestions on the basis of studying theteaching methods of symphony appreciation. Some plans and countermeasures aresummarized in the fifth part. Finally, the conclusion is made in terms of symphonyappreciation teaching in senior high schools.Based on the author’s year-long teaching practices and experience in Dalian102Senior High School, a variety of research methods are used in this paper, for example, demonstration, speculation, psychoanalysis and comparison. The authorsummarizes basic features and general laws of symphony appreciation teaching insenior high schools and points out future prospects.
