With the continuous reforms of teaching, history teaching gradually takes a larger share in middle and high school curriculums. In order to improve the overall teaching level and promote the communications among teachers, schools have carried out model lessons, for which reason the number of history model lessons in middle schools also increased. However, though carried out widely, there are few extensive researches on model lessons. Therefore, this essay will analyze and research on model lessons on three aspects:their significance and existing problems, the evaluation and the approaches to prepare a model lesson. In regard to the significance, the further development of the history model lessons in middle schools provides a communication platform for teachers and facilitates the communications among teachers, with great help to teachers who teach model lessons and those who attend the lessons. With the improvement on teachers’ teaching skills, the in-class teaching efficiency will be raised, thus, the quality of teaching will be largely promoted and the teaching reforms will be furthered in each teacher’s attempts. However, it is exactly for the extensive development of the model lessons that problems on this issue gradually appear, for example, regardless of the real teaching context, many model lessons lose the original purpose by conducting rehearsals in advance with the target students.Then, how to evaluate and identify the level of the model class? This paper evaluates the model class based on the following four aspects:the teachers’ expression ability, arrangement of the teaching contents, classroom atmosphere and students’ evaluation for teaching. Teachers’ expression ability consists of language competence, blackboard design and teaching body language, from which teachers can communicate with students and deliver information in class. The arrangement of the teaching contents includes difficulties and focuses, teaching topic and the effective delivery of the teaching contents. The difficulties and focuses is directly related to the completion of classroom tasks; teaching topics will affect students’ understanding of the class; effective delivery of teaching content is important for teachers to accurately and efficiently deliver the contents to students. Teachers should make good arrangement of these three aspects in arranging their teaching contents. While the classroom atmosphere should be evaluated from students’interest in learning, problem set in class, and the effectiveness of group activities, which will not only help to stimulate students’ interest in learning and achieve teaching tasks, but also help to keep the class from losing control and avoid teaching rhythm being disrupted. Another important part in teaching is to evaluate the students in a timely manner.A timely evaluation to students’performance either in class or after class does help to examine the teaching quality, adapt the teaching strategies or strengthen the classroom teaching effect. For a common teacher, how should we prepare history model lessons in junior high school since we have known the evaluation standards? This paper will analyze from the point of view of preparing teaching design and improving the author’s professional level. To prepare the teaching design is an essential work for a good classroom teaching. As the saying goes "A good preparation is half done". The teaching design is to explain from the three aspects of determining teaching goals, selecting teaching methods and integrating teaching resources. Improving the professional level is to set forth from demonstrating teaching style, improving history awareness and teacher’s personal charm. The model class has active guidance to teacher and indirectly promotes the students’ learning. Studying the model class, that is:studying how to have an excellent history class in junior high school is universally positive to each history teacher. |
