Compared with Mathematics Teaching Syllabus, the Middle School Mathematics Curriculum Standards has changed a lot in teaching idea, teaching content, teaching goal and other areas. All of these changes offer a great challenge to high school teachers to understand the Standards and manage mathematics teaching. The "statistics and probability" has a very wide range of applications in our real life, and also is an important content of high school mathematics. Since the new curriculum reform, the "statistics and probability" has changed a lot in content structures and content requirements and college entrance examination. In order to make our teachers have a good grasp of the Standards, curriculum goal, and guarantee the harmony of our new curriculum reform, which requires us to make a further study for the change of the "statistics and probability".The thesis mainly makes a comparison between the Standards and the Syllabus about the "statistics and probability" content from the following aspects:the differences in their structures, the differences in their requirements. In addition, permutation and combination are closely connected with the probability theory, so the "permutation and combination and binomial theorem" is also included in the study. The process of comparison in content and structure mainly includes two tasks:one task is to show the changes in content and structure; the other task is to explain these changes in further. And the process of comparison in content requirements mainly includes the two tasks: one task is to show the changes in content requirements; the other task is to combine with some new perspective in the college entrance examination for further elaborating the changes in content requirements. And the purpose of this study, one is to show teachers the changes of the "statistics and probability" in their structures and teaching requirements; the other one is to illustrate the significance and importance of these changes for teachers; and the last one is, on the basis of these changes, to provide the suggestions for teaching, which is for the smooth implementation of teaching. This study differs from other studies in making a detailed comparison between the Standards and the Syllabus about the "statistics and probability" content from content structures and teaching requirements, and explaining and illustrating the corresponding changes. This article is divided into five parts. The first part elaborates the papers on topics background and meaning and purpose; The second part is the literature review, mainly introduces the existing research on the topic; The third part states the research on the process and methods; The fourth part is the main contents of research:the comparison research of the statistics and probability content offered in Standards and Syllabus; The fifth part summarizes the research and provides some suggestions on teaching.
