After collecting a lot of relevant literature and research on Xia Mianzun’s works, and combining the analysis of these data and the background of the age, the author give a objective study to Xia Mianzun’s Chinese education thoughts.This article is based on the background of the formation of Xia Mianzun’s education thoughts, The paper concludes with a discussion of Xia Mianzun’s ideology of Chinese education,and reveal the great vitality of Xia Mianzun’s thought of Chinese education.This article first discusses the background of Xia Mianzun’s thought of Chinese education.On the basis of the investigation on the foundation factors of Xia Mianzun’s ideology of Chinese Education, from three aspects of the teaching practice, the editing practice, the foreign educational ideas, the article analyzes the reasons for the formation of Xia Mianzun’s thought of Chinese education in accordance with the time line.The main part of this article is divided into two parts, one is the study on the concept of personality education and, the other is study on his concept of Chinese Language Education.Xia Mianzun’s concept of personality education is the core of his thought on Chinese Language Education, it include the following four aspects:the background of education is the premise, the heart-love education is the basis, teachers’ personality is the guarantee, and students’self education is the objective.Xia Mianzun’s view of Chinese education is the main content of his thought on Chinese Language Education.
