As an outstanding proletarian revolutionist, strategist andtheoretician, Mao Zedong, together with the Communist Party of China,makes joint efforts to use and develop Maxist educational theory wisely,combining it with the Chinese practical situation, thus creating MaoZedong’s educational thought as an important component of Mao Zedong’sthoughts and a great thinking spark in the process of our education historyarising. It makes a unique contribution to the educational reform anddevelopment of our nation. Therefore, the study on Mao Zedong’seducational thought has an important instructional significance to thecurrent Chinese educational reform and development.The essay studies Mao Zedong’s educational thoughts from thefollowing three aspects; first of all, exploring the theoreticalresources; furthermore, illustrating the main contents and basiccharacteristics, the last part making a more systematic study onhistorical position and enlightenment of Mao Zedong’s educationalthoughts. I try my best to form a more rounded study system of Mao Zedong’seducational thoughts. I hope to make a meager contribution to having afurther understanding of the essence of Mao Zedong’s educationalthoughts and promoting the development of education of our country.
