Values to foster has always been the main content of ideological theory research, In recentyears, With the high-speed development of economy. Social contradictions prominentincreasingly, Disharmony phenomenon occurs frequently. These have a negative effect to theformation and development of the college students’ values. College students are the importantgroups of the society. They are the backbone of achieving the great rejuvenation of the Chinesenation and the Chinese dream. The values which college students have correctly or not, related topersonal future and the fate of the country. Therefore, It is especially important to cultivate thecore values of university students. The eighteenth report of the Chinese Communist Party refersto: We must advocate the prosperous, strong, democratic, civilized and harmonious; We mustadvocate freedom, equality, justice, rule of law; We must advocate patriotism, dedication,integrity, kindness. So that, we can cultivate and practice the socialist core values actively. Thereport has pointed out the current direction in the cultivation of college students’ core values andhas cleared out current target in the cultivation of college students’ core values. The CentralGeneral Office issued 《the opinion on cultivation and practice of socialist core values》OnDecember23,2013.It is illustrated about how to cultivate and practice the socialist core valuesfrom the guiding ideology, the national education and practice cultivation, propaganda andeducation, practice activities, organization and leadership and so on six aspects. It pointed out thedirection of the cultivation of college students’ socialist core values. This article analyses thecontent in the cultivation of contemporary college students’ socialist core values, significance,problems and reasons and explores the countermeasures in the cultivation of contemporarycollege students’ socialist core values. The purpose is to guide students to set up the correct coresocialist values and to define the direction of life. The paper has six parts:The first part: introduction. It mainly discusses from the aspects of college studentsthemselves and the school.The fifth part: It expounds the problems of socialist core values of contemporary universitystudents.The sixth part: It puts forward the cultivating path of socialist core values of contemporaryuniversity students. According to the problems existing in the college students’ core values andthe reason, It puts forward the corresponding strategies in the cultivation of college students’socialist core values from two aspects of society and school.
