Implementation of physical examination is to fully carry out the party's policy on education, which is an important measure to enhance students'health. The maintenance of students'health should always be the top priority for the education, leading to the increasingly attention paid by the society, schools and parents to students health. The purpose of the physical test is to stimulate the students to take active part in the exercises and cultivate their habits of joining the physical training on their own, thus promoting the development of the students'physical and mental health.Physical test for Senior High School Entrance plays an active role in promoting the reform and development of the sports subjects and sports undertakings of the school. Moreover, it not only has played a positive impetus to the students'health conditions, but also in carrying out the competence-oriented education in all-round way. However, along with the further-deepening reforms of the educational system and the all-round development of quality education, Physical test for Senior High School Entrance is facing the opportunity and challenge for the reform and development.In light of the spirit of"Several Suggestions of CPC Central Committee and the State Council on Increasing the Youth Sports Activities and Enhancing the Youth Physical Status", the further reforms and improvements of the Sports Exam for Senior High School Entrance should be taken into the consideration. This thesis employs the data collection methodologies of materials analysis, questionnaire, expertise interviews ,field survey and statistics on the basis the data form the Sports Exam for Senior High School Entrance of Shanghai in the past four years. Pursuant to the survey on the students in Grade Two and Three in junior middle schools, their parents, sports teachers, the leaders in charge of the sports educations, it is clear that the main achievements done by the Sports Exam for Senior High School Entrance in Shanghai are: increasing the cognition of physical examination, guaranteeing the development of the sports related works, supervising the students to take part in the physical activities aiming at cultivating awareness and the habits in terms of the physical activity participation, improving the qualities of the P.E. lessons and activities, enhancing the strength of students, elevate the professional level of the P.E. teachers and introducing new forms of the P.E. teaching methods and after-class activities. But due to the influential exerted by many social factors, the implementation of the sports exam also make several hidden problems exposure, which could be listed as follow: the test-orienting ideas still exist leading to the inconsistency of the P.E. lessons and the activities after the exams; the deception in the sports exam scores makes the uniformed scoring results; the once-in-year exam could not make any incentive to the cultivation of the confidence and interests for students to participate the sports activities; lacking of the human-oriented design of the testing subjects adds the difficulties to build up a long-term mechanism with effectively; the irrational arrangement of the exam make students play poorer than their actually levels in the exam; inadequate in the quantity index of the daily testing make the exam featuring objective, fair, justice less probably, which stand in the way of the ongoing of the sports exam.Thereby, this thesis puts forwards to some countermeasures, suggestions about the problems in the process of physical test for senior high school entrance in Shanghai, providing the guidelines for setting up a reform of the Shanghai physical test for senior high school entra nce characterized with scientific, rational, fair, justice.
