| China is in the key period of social transformation, in which emergent public crises emerging from inconstancy occur in high frequency, which leads to negative influence in economic and political life, as well as in social stability and development, and imposing great challenges for the government. It is concluded from practice that local government respond to public crises relatively poor, which brings harms to crisis management and hurts credibility of local government. To enhance local government's credibility in crisis management is an urgent task. What's more, the decreasing credibility of local government due to all kinds of reasons is another threat for crisis management and other works.There are two weak points in research about government credibility and crisis management ability: Firstly, research focuses on national level and macro-statement, rarely on specific problems of local government. In fact, what affects ordinary people most is crisis management ability and credibility of local government. Second, researches about governmental crisis management ability and credibility are isolated to each other instead of being inter-connective.On the basis of tracing theories of crisis management ability and credibility of local government, the thesis probes relations of the two sides, and analyses reasons of poor crisis management ability and decreasing credibility of local government, and its vicious circle interactions. To change this, the thesis suggests virtuous circle method of the two.The thesis opens a new angle in researching crisis management and credibility of local government, which is of important theoretic and practical significance for improving crisis management ability and credibility of local government, so as to enhance its administration, and for its scientific development as well. |
