Study Of The Liberation War, Our Army's Ideological And Political Work

The period of China's War of Liberation was marked as one of the most glorious periods in the history of Chinese Army, and a period during which the army's ideological and political work saw a rapid development. Having inherited the fine tradition of the Army's ideological and political work in the Agrarian Revolution (1927-1937) and the Anti-Japanese War, based on the rich experience in the past, and combined with the new practice at the time, the ideological and political work during this period had many creative forms, of which representative being the New Type of Political Education Movement in the Army, which not only played an important role in construction and development of the People's Army, and in winning the decisive victories in the Chinese People's War of Liberation, but also gave inspiration to the Army that is designated to win local wars under high-tech conditions. Guided by Marxism-Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought, Deng Xiaoping Theory, and the important thought of "Three Represents", and using the Party spirit and scientificity, history-logic unification, as well as comparative research method, this paper elaborates the main content, features and basic experience of the Army's ideological and political work in China's War of Liberation with focus on the New Type of Political Education Movement in the Army and comes up with some thoughts on how to carry out the ideological and political work in the People's Army under the new circumstances.The paper is divided into three sections. The first part gives a general idea about the main content and salient features of the Army's ideological and political work carried out at different historic stages of China's War of Liberation. The second part elaborates the historical background and the main content of the New Type of Political Education Movement in the Army, a general survey of how different field armies carried out the New Type of Political Education Movement, and its significance. The third part sums up the basic experience of the Army's ideological and political work with focus on the New Type of Political Education Movement in the Army during China's War of Liberation, and comes up with some considerations on how to carry out ideological and political work under the new circumstances.
