Since reforming and opening up, civil society structures and patterns of interest has changed a lot, penetration of foreign values and lifestyles are worse, the PLA’s ideological and political education are facing tough challenges. Researching and improving our army’s ideological and political education in the new period of the new model has become the important subject of political work in the army, it is of great importance for raising the level of our army’s ideological and political work.The paper takes scientific thought of development for guide, based on and "humanist" theory and "interactive-dating" theory, starting from army thought political education development course, put army thought political education of traditional mode and new of mode for analysis and put them into comparison, researching mode shift of need and achieved way of army of thought political education by traditional of "authority-indoctrination" mode to new of "people this-interactive"Based on the period of new democratic revolution and the Socialist Revolution and construction and reform and opening up our army in the new period ideological and political education in the period of the study content and features, exploring the law of development of our army’s ideological and political education. Analysis of tradition of our army’s ideological and political education, that traditions of our army’s ideological and political education characteristics of passive, one-way and sealing; there exists problems in tradition of our army’s ideological and political education model and teaching methods. Our army’s ideological and political education in the new era follows the theory of "humanity" and "communication-interaction" theories; its principle is people-oriented, democratic principles of equality and self-education. Features include the ideological workers of high quality, educational initiative, interactive and attention obtained. Finally from the international and domestic situation and the soldiers’martial spirit it expounded the necessity in speeding up the transformation of our army’s ideological and political education model. It’s better to update educational concept, rich educational content, innovative methods, and good educational environment to speed up changes in the pattern of ideological and political education of the army.
