For a long time, we have attached importance to the research and teaching of entities law while the legal history is paid little attention to and the research area is also limited to some extent, not to mention some special research on the exchange of legal education between China and foreign countries. However, this does not mean that the exchange history of legal education between China and foreign countries is redundant and meaningless. On the contrary, the exchange of legal education in the late Qing Dynasty has played an invaluable role in the modernization of China's legal construction. The modernization of the legal education in China may have been delayed by several years without the exchange history of legal education in the late Qing. Therefore, it can be said the exchange of legal education in the late Qing is of great historical significance.This paper consists of five main parts, discussing the late Qing Dynasty foreign exchange of legal education. The first part defines and analyzes China's foreign exchange of legal education in the late Qing Dynasty and sums up its characteristics .The second part mainly does an in-depth study on the reasons for the foreign exchange of legal education in the late Qing Dynasty, including the political, economic, legal, educational, scientific and technological aspects. The third part mainly describes all the phases of the foreign exchange of legal education, including the stage of before and after the Opium War to 1894 and the stage from 1895 to 1911, and makes a detailed exposition on these two stages, then sums up a certain regularity. The forth part discusses the influence of the foreign exchange of legal education systematically, mainly from the constitutional, legislative, administrative, judicial, legal education and other aspects. The last part is the conclusion, summing up the factors taken into consideration in the contemporary China's foreign exchange of legal education by systematic analysis of the foreign exchange of legal education in Qing dynasty.This article holds that China's modern system of legal education construction had been caused by the direct impact and influence of the legal education in the West in modern times. The late Qing Dynasty of China in its foreign exchange on legal education also made some mistakes, but on the whole, this exchange played a positive and progressive role in the development of China. With the increasingly more communication in today's world, legal education exchange, whether now or in the future, are very necessary. By foreign exchange of legal education we can optimize our own legal education.
