Social Assistance For Persons With Disabilities In Urban Analysis And Countermeasures Research

As a "stabilizer" and "security net" in the social security system, social assistant provides the very fundamental security service. China has more than 60 million handicapped people and social assistant for the handicapped is the most direct and effective way to solve their problems. A sound social security system not only benefits these handicapped people but also has a profound impact on the political, economical and cultural development of the whole society. It is also of great significance in stabilizing the society, ensuring the handicapped people's equal participation in social life, and sharing the material and cultural achievements of the whole society.Based on the questionnaires of life situation and social assistant needs of the handicapped in Jinan city, this thesis attempts to depict the living conditions of the handicapped in urban areas in China, to probe the problems and deficiencies in urban social assistant, and to provide scientific foundations for policy making in developing education, employment, social security, and medical recovery and such social assistant practices for the handicapped people. This thesis is divided into five parts:Part One composes of documentary review. It reviews documentary related to west and Chinese social security thoughts, social assistant system development and social assistant for the handicapped people. It also points out the deficiencies of current theories and the significance of this research thesis.Part Two covers the research method. The research framework covers current situation analysis, problem analysis and solution analysis. The research method of thesis consists of both documentary research and empirical research. Questionnaires and interviews are used to get first-hand data.Part Three defines the concepts of the handicapped and social assistant for them, and depicts the development and current situation of social assistant work in China. And in this part it describes the final research results: research sample analysis, life and social assistant situation of the urban handicapped people, urban handicapped people's attitude...
