The paper involves five parts, i.e. Lenovo's developing history and introducing the background of Lenovo's merging IBM's PC department; Analysis of Lenovo's mergers & acquisitions strategy; Lenovo's strategy orientation and adjustment; Necessary condition and countermeasure of Lenovo's strategy adjustment; Conclusions and suggestions.In chapter 1, the author discusses Lenovo's development history and the background of Lenovo's merging IBM's PC department, which includes four aspects, that is, Lenovo's development stages; general situation of PC industry; situation of IBM's PC business; and process of Lenovo's merging IBM's PC department.In chapter 2, the author conducts analysis of Lenovo's mergers & acquisitions strategy, which includes five aspects including analysis of PC industry structure; Lenovo's industry orientation; IBM's turnaround strategy on the value chain and service-oriented strategy; reluctant mergers & acquisitions; and SWOT analysis of mergers & acquisitions.In chapter 3, the author illustrates in detail the Lenovo's strategy orientation and adjustment, which includes four aspects, namely, specialization strategy; cost advantage strategy; differentiation strategy; brand strategy.In chapter 4, the author discusses necessary condition and countermeasure of Lenovo's strategic adjustment, which includes eight aspects, i.e. Lenovo's framework integration; supply chain integration; product lines integration; market channel integration; comprehension of two enterprise cultures; promoting international management ability of Lenovo's managers; designing effective emergency plans; and strengthening crisis-management ability.At last, the author summarizes the key questions faced with Lenovo and puts forward specific suggestions for Lenovo. |
