The thesis of "Protestantism and liberalism" mainly discusses whatProtestantism has contributed to the formation of liberalism. The scholars bothabroad and at home acforowledge that the contribution is positive, but neither ofthem has written worde about it systemaheally This thesis holds that firstly,indivdealism (the central principal of liberalism)is derived from the doctrine of"Justification by Faith"of Protestribe,"Justification by Faith"unboundpeoplefrom the yoke of Catholicism made them face God directly thus formed theindivdualism in the individualism of liberalism in the earthly extension of theindivedualism of theology.Secondly,the ideas of"Intestantism" and"Liberalism"is new religion has greatiy proceed people's attention towards the world andunderlain the legitimacy of worldly life. The separation of Christianity caused byProtestantism brought the appearance of tolerations in religion. Also the newreligions ceremony made possible the permeation of national country and citizen'ssociety The thoughts of Lock root in Protestantism as well They gained inspirationfrom Protestantism, they established a system, which linters on individualism andadvocates religious tolerations,limited government and liberalism of individualrights.
