On The Tragedy Of Wang Guowei's Aesthetic Thoughts

This thesis is based not only on Wang Guowei's misery and special experience but also some of his mental elements which we called sad character as well as some objective and subjective factors such as the influence from Chinese and western philosophy. This thesis is mainly talking about the cause, content and uncommon pursuit of his tragedy aesthetics thought. On the one hand, this thesis tries to deeply discover his thought which people make aesthetics transcend for escaping the mortal bonds so that entering a kind of disinterested aesthetics ideology, also it discusses that aesthetic subject must praise highly a spirit force called the Third Tragedy and a criticism which criticizes happy ending tragedies. On the other hand, this thesis draws a conclusion on Wang Guowei, the first people who brings western aesthetics to China in 20th century, and his tremendous contribution to Chinese aesthetics. In this thesis the spiritual connotation of Wang Guowei's tragedy aesthetics thought, mainly concerning tragic beauty, is still having a momentous significance. This signification can teach people how to keep a pure heart and how to insist a naive belief in an acquisitive society.
