"messiah" In The Soprano Aria And Its Concert Study

Oratorio is a large vocal music genre, which was born in Italy in the turn of the 16-17th century .The subjects of oratorio are mainly the Bible stories, whose structure generally includes Overture, Intermezzo, choral and solo voices throughout every parts(Recitative, Aria) and ensembles so. Handel's "Messiah" is an immortal monument in the history of European vocal, which not only led Handel's music to the summit, but also exerted to some extent far-reaching implications on other composers.This article, based on the literature and the acoustic materials related to "Messiah", through the methods of narration, explanation and proof, from the objective to the microscopic, from the whole to the parts, layer upon layer, has progressively made a more objective and thorough research on the five soprano songs in "the Messiah" as well as the related singing grasp. The research angle makes a kind of innovation compared with the predecessors, regarding these arias in the play's importance, the correlations and differences between Handel's oratorio and Italy opera at that time, thus analyzing their training value to the present bel canto, which the existing literature materials have not involved. Therefore, this research has made a positive role in further understanding of the whole singing characteristics of "Messiah" and the vocal music works of the Baroque time, in a more thorough and accurate grasp of the style and artistic connotation of Handel's vocal music works, in an enhancement of a singer's artistic culture and the singing, and in the expansion of the work scope which a singer may touch upon. At the same time, it also arouses a value on the importance of the general vocal music among the music learners, and a value on the oratorio and the Handel's vocal music works as well.
