Chuan-written many times in the text, "Fish" written "Lu", "hai" written as "hog". Circulating through ancient works of literature exists many typographical errors. The existence of a large number of these kinds of errors, not only causes a lot of trouble when trying to read ancient literature, but also increases the burden on dictionaries. Without sorting through these various errors, typographical errors can easily become embedded over time, becoming mixed up with the accurate meanings of different characters, therefore requiring more storage space within dictionaries. For a variety of reasons, the attitudes and approaches of different dictionaries are not consistent. My thesis is based on the "Dictionary of Chinese Characters" and more than 50000 characters, modeled on a careful case by case investigation, and the creation of a list of necessary clean-up and corrections. This entails a number of words listed for further analysis and corrections in regards to the type of formations of a large number of false reasons for any given word, and an exploration of the characteristics of false characters and its relationship with laws, as well as considering the connection between a number of these false Chinese characters and others. Through the above collation and analysis, it will become possible to adequately address the issue of these typographical errors, simultaneously solving the problems associated with reading, as well as streamlining and improving dictionaries. This paper has three parts:PartⅠ:Chapter One: Introduction. This describes the object of study, research methods, research significance and current status of research on these "false" words.PartⅡ:ChapterⅡ: The number of false words.
