False memory refers that the individual can be tricked into remembering things that never happened,or make illusion between memories of the event and the event itself.The traditional view that false memory will decrease with the growth of age,however,in recent years,many researchers confirmed that the false memory of children increases with the growth of the age,show the developmental reversal in children false memory.According to the Implicit Activation Response theory and Fuzzy-Trace Theory,the reasons of the developmental reversal in children false memory are word association and word fragments.This study explores false memory in 7,9,11 years old children to weaken the developmental reversal by using DRM paradigm to control these two kinds of the word list.Experiment 1 reserchs the weaken of the developmental reversal by the equal representational effect of two types of word list(semantic correlative,scene correlative).Based on the DRM words to revised and establishment semantic correlative words and scene correlative words.The design was a 2(list representational effect:semantic correlative,scene correlative)×3(project types:learned words,unrelated words,critical lures)×3(age:7years,9 years,11 years)mixed experimental design,the first two manipulations were within-participants.The results showed that:For critical lures condition,false recognition was higher for the semantic correl-ative than for the scene correlative;Children of different ages in different of project types and characterization ability have no significant difference.The results indicate that children representational effect was highter for the semantic correlative than for the scene correlative,and the equal representational effect list weaken developmental reversal in children false memory.Experiment 2 reserchs the weaken of the developmental reversal by fragment of the chinese character strokes.Based on the experiment1words to revised and establish-ment the whole words and the fragment words by removing at the end of the stroke.The design was a 2(word:whole,fragment)×3(project types:learned words,unrelated words,critical lures)×3(age:7years,9 years,11 years)mixed experimental design,the first two manipulations were within-participants.The results showed that:For the learned words of word fragment condition,correct recognition was higher for 11 years old than for 7years old and 9years old;The rest of recognition rates have no significant difference.The results indicate that the fragment of chinese character strokes improve childrencorrect recognition,but can not weaken developmental reversal in children false memory.Experiment 3 reserchs the weaken of the developmental reversal by fragment of the chinese characters structure.Based on DRM list to revised and establishment the whole words 1/4 fragment words and 1/3 fragment words by removing at the bottom of structure.The design was a 3(word:whole,1/4fragment,1/3fragment)×3(project types:learned words,unrelated words,critical lures)×3(age:7years,9 years,11 years)mixed experimental design,the first two manipulations were within-participants.The results showed that:For the different kinds of word fragment have a significant difference,fasle recognition was higher for 11 years old than for 7years old and 9years old;For false recognition for unrelated words,fragement of chinese characters structure was main effects,false recognition of 7years old 9years old children increases with the growth of the age.The results indicate that the fragment of chinese character structure has an effect upon false recognition of old children,and acceler-ation developmental reversal in children false memory.Children false memory became evident effect on older children for learning the vocabulary when false memory increases with the growth of the age.To reduce developmental reversal of the false memory,the experiment researchs that by the above three word characteristics.Our foud that the equal representational effect word beased on the Implicit Activation Response theory obviously weaken developmental reversal;However,the fragment word of the chinese character strokes and structure failed to achieve the desired effect,it revised and establishment beased on Fuzzy Trace Theory.It implicit that Activation Response theory can explain the developmental reversal in children false memory,but the interpretation to false memory by Fuzzy Trace Theory still need further discussion.
