Nostalgia, as a aesthetics and cultural studies in the field of research, has an important value. Today, in the highly developed material world, nostalgia, however, is haunted on modern people's mind. Nostalgia, such a topic concerning about the reality, enjoy a universal emotional and cognitive foundation. Individual and nationality lose home for spirit and reality in present days, how to have a sense of home in the changing world? How to make body and mind unify to have a poetic dwelling? It has been a problem we have to face now and it is the reflection of homesickness.This article consists of three components. The first chapter analyzes the modern fact to the rise of nostalgia. As one of the basic domain of researches, it is a response to the realities of modernity. With flowing of modernity, changing reality, gradually disappearing of traditional homes and home life. The modern concept of time as the spiritual essence of modernity, unlimited request for the future caused the neglect of this dimension of the past. Meanwhile, the globalization of culture brings trend of losing the sense of local and indigenous culture. Reflections on the history and culture has been nostalgia for an emotional dimension. Modernity and Nostalgia in the context of globalization, the memory of their homes within the meaning of reality and the spirit return to the past.The second chapter focuses on analysis of the basic content of the domain nostalgia. Nostalgia is an expression of homesick, nostalgia is basis of argument of homesickness. Different from traditional personal images and nostalgic for home country, the modern image of the rural nostalgia has more extensive outreach, deeper content. Associated with globalization, local culture, and modernity has been linked to all individuals, as well as against the natural and artificial reproduction, the richness and natural were the important points to the modern image of nostalgia. Home, as a purport for nostalgia, concerning as a source of individual and the nation's pursuit of its own confirmation. Homesickness is the return to the home close by, circulated closer to the source, to achieve dwelling.Chapter three specific point out the domain of nostalgia that the reality of modernity and aesthetic reflection. Based on the city, for the construction of urban population with a sense of belonging to this city; based on the village, for the villager to retain the home lands and shelter. Nostalgia provides home for the people with the most practical, the most realistic and closest form. Modern Nostalgia from the traditional cultural symbols, extends for an objective basis and aesthetic significance of the universe. Motif of nostalgia expresses people's deep feelings of home and homeland, home and homeland is projecting the most essential meaning of individual life. Philosophical inquiry on the theory of nostalgia, nostalgia will be upgraded from the emotional projection of the inner spirit and the presence of the base of the inquiry.This text starts from the nostalgia of modern research topics, on the nostalgia of the background field generated by the reality, interpretation from the scope of nostalgia, nostalgic reflection on modern life, thinking from three aspects and pointing out that nostalgia of modernity as a kind of modern aesthetic thought, is the modern spirit of self-reflection and expectations.
