With the further development of China' s reform and opening up, the society demands more on the ability of mastering English language for communication. English, as a common skill, has been attracting more and more attention. Currently, the basic English language education draws equally much attention from the central government and ministry of education to various schools. The educational circle puts forward new concepts, new requirements and reform proposals. However, in the elementary level of compulsory education, the effect of basic education can not be optimistic. There exist many problems in teaching concept and teaching method, which jointly constitute the starting point of my thesis.This thesis gives its research perspective and argument so as to provide strong theoretical support for its intention and realistic meaningfulness, through the collection of documents including books, websites and reference of materials about children's English education. Meanwhile, this thesis carries out a pointed survey of children's English education, discovers all problems in the course of children's English education, and comes to the conclusion—children's English education should take all factors into consideration; children should accept not only English language education but also the EQ education; teacher should put emotion into education. The aim is to not only help the children know well the learning skills, but also to teach them to learn the skills to survive. In this way, we will achieve the expected goal of education, and reach the aim of cultivation.This thesis gives diagnoses of the English teaching in Lieshimu Primary School in Chongqing city, in order to find out the common problems in our country's English education for the school-age children. Combined with reality, this thesis provides feasible strategy for school-age children's English education.
