On The " Three Statements Were Made By The Two Filming " Reference To Tang Legendary Dream Imagery And Development

Dream image as a cultural phenomenon in the literature, have long attracted the attention of researchers. Tang Legend has contained a large number of works on dream, which have had a profound impact on later literary works. Many of the dream image description in "Sanyan Erpai",that is derived directly or indirectly from Tang legend, being processed,or re-created on the original basis,has made significant innovation beyond Tang Legend,The academic community has done a lot of reaserch on the dream images in Tang Legend and "Sanyan Erpai" respectively,but the link between the two studies is somewhat neglected. Therefore,this article, based on previous studies, is aimed to further explore the link between the "Sanyan Erpai"and Tang legendary. This study will help us fully understand the sources of content of "three Erpai".It will also help us further clarify the inheritance and development on dream images in Tang legend by "Sanyan Erpai".Beside introduction and conclusion, the paper consists mainly of three parts:In the first part,the author has mainly analyzed the reference and development of content and form from dream imagery in the Tang legendary by Sanyan and Erpai. This paper studies four types of dreams:combination of illusions and reality,enigmatic language indicatio, mixed feelings toward life, and several people with the same dream. It also outlined useful references by "Sanyan Erpai" from the contents of the Tang Legend of dream imagery, and further analyses Feng and Ling's innovation on the basis of Tang Legend. The description of dreams in "Sanyan Erpai" has reasonably borrowed the essence from Tang Legend, and integrated with the requirement of the society at that time, and thus created works with more fun.In the second part, the author has mainly discussed the inheritance and transcendence of Sanyan and Erpai over the Tang legendary with regards to methods of narration. From the perspective of narratology, this paper sort out the relationship between"Sanyan Erpai" and the narrative description of dream imagery in the Tang Legend through the research into perspectives of dream narrative description, narrative time, psychological and other aspects of narrative. Compared with the Tang Legend,the narration of dreams in Sanyan Erpai is more flexible. Tang Legend emphasizes the art of rendering time, while Sanyan Erpai developed a kind of narrative art that attaches importance to both time and space.In the third part,the author has mainly discussed the value and limitation of Sanyan Erpai's reference from The Tang legend.To some extent,"Sanyan Erpai" has inherited and developed Tang legend in the aspect of description of dream images and narration. In the process of reference and re-creation,"Sanyan Erpai" fully displayed the aesthetic function of art and enlightenment of the dream image, and made considerable literary achievement.But it also had obvious limitations. In the novel dreams are used not only to promote karma ideas, but also create a never-ending happy endings, and it lost its tragic charm. It's the defect when "Sanyan Erpai" inherits from the Tang Legend.
