The Junzi Says(君子曰) in Zuo Zhuan,which is considered as the opening of the Lun Zan style, is inadequately concerned by researchers.As for the quotations from the Book of Songs in Zuo Zhuan,the researchers mainly focus on the ministers and ambassadors' diplomatic languages,but few of them focus on the Junzi Says.In view of this,the thesis tries to sort out the genesis and the characteristics of the Junzi Says quoting from the Book of Songs,and discusses its influence to the later history literature as well as the classical novels.The thesis studies the theme within the background of the sound-teaching of blind musicians during the Shang and Zhou period and the environment of quoting the Book of Songs in the Spring and Autumn period,and by analyzing the change of blind musicians' social status from the Spring and Autumn period to the Warring States period.The body comprises three chapters as below:Chapter 1.The overview of the Junzi Says quoting from the Book of Songs.There are four types of the historical commentaries in Zuo Zhuan,which are君子曰,君子谓,君子是以(知),君子以为.This thesis takes the Junzi Says as the general saying of these commentaries.According to the statistic analysis,the essay raises 5 questions about the Junzi Says and Zuo Zhuan quoting from the Book of Songs.Why it quotes a lot from Ya and Song? Why it quotes Da Ya more than Xiao Ya? Why the quoting trend is similar to the quoting atmosphere of the Spring and Autumn period? Why it reaches prosperity in the Xiang and Zhao period? And why it falls into a decline in Ding and Ai period?Chapter 2.The sound-teaching of blind musicians.The blind musicians with their sensitive hearing and extraordinary memory became the palace musicians in the period of Shang and Zhou. They took in charge of teaching,history recording and admonishment.Zuo Qiuming,the author of Zuo Zhuan,was rightly the successor of the blind musicians.Several generations of blind musicians recorded and spread the words and deeds of Junzi in oral.Some of the oral materials formed the Junzi Says in Zuo Zhuan.The sound-teaching of songs and poems in Zhou period was according to Ya and Song,and Xiao Ya appeared later than Da Ya.Therefore,the Junzi Says quotes a lot from the Ya and Song,and quotes Da Ya more than Xiao Ya.The Spring and Autumn period is a destruction period of the Ritual and Music,and the quotations from the Book of Songs in the Junzi say reaching prosperity in Xiang and Zhao period is closely related to the blind musicians insisting the tradition of admonishment and the sound-teaching of songs and poems.The representative is Shi Kuang. Through the study of the behaviors of Shi Kuang,we can see the blind musicians were given and received as the gifts between the nations in Xiang and Zhao period,and their social status fell down sharply.So the atmosphere of quoting from the Book of Songs suddenly stopped in Ding and Ai period.A conclusion is drawn that it's the dispersion of blind musicians that led to the destruction of Ritual and Music.The blind musicians who spread to the folk became the pioneers of the doctrine of various thoughts.Chapter 3.The influence of the Junzi says quoting from the Book of Songs.The Junzi says is not only the opening of Lun Zan style,its quoting method and special way of thinking about history is also inherited by the historical commentary in later generations.The representative is Taishigong says(太史公曰) in Shiji.It influences the Chinese classical novels as well.The representative is Yishishi says(异史氏曰) in Liao Zhai Zhi Yi.Through the above-mentioned study and analysis,the thesis discuses the quoting phenomenon from the Book of Songs in the Junzi Says of Zuo Zhuan in the background of Shang and Zhou period. The thesis summarizes its characteristics by statistic analysis,explains its genesis in the background of the the sound-teaching of blind musicians,tries to discuss the related problem about Zuo Zhuan, and points out its great influence to the later history literature as well as the classical novels.
