Dialect Words In Modern Chinese Dictionary "(5th Edition)

The paper uses the dialect words from Modern Chinese Dictionary ( the Fifth Edition) as the research object. The paper collects all the dialect words in the Modern Chinese Dictionary ( the Fifth Edition) which marked〈方〉and the words which indicated "also called as", "also used as " after its explanation. First, the author does the static analysis, and combining with the "Great Dictionary of Chinese Dialects", does the research on their part of speech, phonetic structure, dialect region, semantic types and cultural types, etc. Some of the researches are done with methods of counting frequency and percentage. Then, the author does the dynamic analysis on those dialect words, so as to explore their origins. Associated with Chinese Dictionary, the paper studies the era when those dialect words first appeared and does a final analysis afterwards. Through methods of counting frequency and percentage, the paper intends to solve the problems such as the existence in the past and the evolution of those dialect words. The paper concludes the following four parts:The first part is an general introduction to this paper. It gives a brief idea of the present research situation of dialect words, and elaborates the main idea of the material explanation in this paper.The second part is the static statements of the dialect words in Modern Chinese Dictionary (the Fifth Edition). First of all, it discussed about the defining of dialect words. Then, examine these words from the prospective of morphology, the structure of syllable, the type of meaning, and the category of culture. Collect some of them to count the percentage and frequency. Finally, research the original area where these dialect words come from according to the Great Dictionary of Chinese Dialects, and do the data collection and analysis.The third part is about the research of finding the source of these dialect words which collected from the Modern Chinese Dictionary (the Fifth Edition). The first step is to discuss their existence in the history according to the Chinese Dictionary. Then, focus on the historical developments of these dialects word according to their appearing time, the social and historical cause of their developments in their prime time, as well as the inherited words, deviant words, innovated words and borrowed words in the dialect.The last part is the end of the paper. It summarizes the main idea and the approach of the research.
