Jin Yunqiao Biography is one of the romantic novels in late Ming and early Qing, and the story of its heroine Wang Cuiqiao has a great influence both in Ming and Qing dynasties. This is a story with historical basis, and has been concerned, thought about, imagined and constantly fictionalized by many scholars. This story has a long history of evolution and a lot of changes; it also has rich text forms and a wide-ranging spread. meanwhile it brings a far-reaching impact on Vietnam literature and Japanese literature, with the value of multi-study. However, in terms of the relative value of its importance, the academia has a late start on its study. Even today, the work of the relevant information is still relatively weak, and there are still many blind spots in it, and much more questions should be explored in depth. This dissertation takes Jin Yunqiao Biography as the study object, and will make a more comprehensive and deeper discussion on it.Besides the introduction and conclusion, this dissertation is divided into three parts. The first part is the study about the publication of the book. The content is relates to its versions and ages, and its source material. Jin Yunqiao Biography is different from the usual romantic novel, it is an integrated production created according to the relative notes, hearsay, historical data and opera creation, which are about the story of a pirate Xu Hai and a prostitute Wang Cuiqiao in Jiajing period. Xu Hai and Wang Cuiqiao are true persons in history, and this selected method makes it different from the other romantic novels in the same period. About its versions, as early as 1985, Dong Wencheng has published The Version Research on Jin Yunqiao Biography in the journals Ming Qing Novel, and he had pointed that there were more than thirteen versions both in domestic and abroad. Japanese scholars, on the base of the recordation of their important book BoZai bookcontent, thought that the earliest version of Jin Yunqiao Biography----Guanhuatang's version has disappeared, and now there is only hand-written copy of the same period. While in 2003, Guanhuatang's version Jin Yunqiao Biography has been discovered by Guan Guiquan in Fuzhou, and its content is from the first section to the twelfth section. Jin Yunqiao Biography has many copies with intricate links between them.The second part is the conclusion and summary of the unique art characteristics of Jin Yunqiao Biography. QingXinCairen's Jin Yunqiao Biography is a typical work which is more famous abroad than in domestic in the similar romantic novels in late Ming and early Qing. Since been transplanted to famous six-eight form long narrative epic DuanChangXinSheng by Vietnamese post Ruan You, it has an upper international reputation in literature world, and it has been translated into English, French, German, Japanese, Russian, Czech and other languages, and been loved by readers for long time. This is inseparable with its unique artistic charm. Jin Yunqiao Biography molds rich and colorful figures with variety of means such as contrast depiction and language description, its narrative pattern is unique and glittering, and character's languages is distinct personality, lively and expressively.The third part is mainly about the propagation and influence of Jin Yunqiao Biography both in domestic and abroad. In domestic, the point is its influence, focusing on influence of themes to the same period, as well as after, and even the contemporary opera creation; abroad, the point is propagation, focusing on summing up its propagation condition in Vietnam, Japan, and South Korea, and analyzing the causes of outside people'favorite.This dissertation takes traditional research method of novel text, and emphasizes on the introduction of the publication of Jin Yunqiao Biography, and discusses the unique artistic characteristics of this novel, and summarizes its propagation abroad and influence in domestic. This dissertation will play a complementary function to the existing research, and give some slender contribution to the further studies.
