Twelve Histories among the Twenty-Four Histories contain female biography.A vast number of middle and lower class women being included in the official history undoubtedly indicates their important position.Gradually,it has been accepted that women,as the other main body in creating history, have played the same role as men. From the Pre-Qin Dynasty to the Han Dynasty, historians gradually changed their perception of women.the first “female biography ”began from Liu Xiang.Fan Ye introduced “female biography” into the official history, and after which only positive women were recorded. From the external compilation of the official history of The “Female Biography”,there are differences in many parts. It is of great value as a historical material for the study of the middle and lower classes of women in ancient China. From the transformation of its character image and the evolution of historians’ standards,it is possible to glimpse the moral qualities of women advocated by successive rulers and the factors that influence the shaping of women’s images.Under the influence of the factors such as the choice of historical materials, the Commendation system and the mainstream idea, the female image has undergone some changes.“Female biography” in tang book of "new and old" can be used as an entry point to study the women of that period.Through comparative analysis, factors affecting the historian standards can be analyzed so that we can grasp the evolution of the standard of historians in other official history.
