Semantic slant has been a topic within the scope of modern Chinese linguistic. Since Lv Shuxiang discovered the phenomonon in 1983, many linguistists after him has given specific discreption to it . It has been proved to be universally existed.Based on the former research of home and abroad , we make a further study on this phenomenon in Chinese language by way of focusing on the area that former linguists have been given less consideration to.Professor Zou Shaohua , a linguist who has given matured description on the language , pointed in one of his article in 2007 that the number of nouns which has the capacity of slant is realized to be in a large number.In the light of this point , we try in this paper to make a detailed research on how many nouns in Chinese language are able to make the slant and in what kind of situation it forms the slant . As the words for common uses are the words which appears frequently in both oral and written chinese , We consider them as the first-hand material for the research .In this paper ,we try to answer the following three questions:1 a thorouth research on the number of frequently used words which has the capacity of slant; 2 a detailed description on different words which are slanted.; 3 a specific statistis on different modes which play the key role for the slantThe paper are formed by six parts . Part 1 An introduction on Chinese language slant ; Part 2 A detailed description on the number of the nouns that can be slanted; Part 3 A brief description on non-nouns which also are able to be slanted.
