| The revolutionary committee of Guangzhou Publicity Office Art Group of the late Cultural Revolution and its works are listed as the research objects of this paper. The art of Guangdong ushered a glorious period in the 1970s. The leaflets printed posters created by the Revolutionary Committee of Guangzhou Publicity Office Art Group, which was founded to serve the Chinese Export Commodities Fair, has been widely spread and became very popular among the whole nation. Batches of influential works were created and innovations in those works were found not only in language style and in form and skills. Most of the authors of those works become well-known. The Art Group has recorded the living status of a generation and the culture memories of that time with their artistic works. To combine individual professional characteristics with the existent visual art resources in and outside China to construct a national image of China in ideology aspect, a heaven of happiness, cleanness and peace. This is a national image of China's socialism in imagination that constructed under the guidance of Chairman Mao's social ideal and lines and principles. By summarizing the works of the Art Group and interviewing the members of the Group, the history of that period will be cleared up and which will help us to understand the reason behind the art prosperity of the 1970s in Guangdong Province and its significance in modern times. The Art Group and its works resemble important research values for the New China's art history. |
