Kangbanuoer song-and-dance duet is a kind primitive folk art popular in Kangbao and other counties of Zhangjiakou.It is based on Bashang dialect, incorporating various artistic elements such as folk songs,comic dialogues, song-and-dance and tradictional operas.It is a creation of the Mongol and Han artists characterized by a distinctive local style and a rich flavor of life.In 2006, Kangbanuoer song-and-dance duet was granted the honor of "National Non-material Cultural Heritage".The study of Kangbanuoer song-and-dance duet is significant for maintaining the primitive musical heritage in the author's hometown,accumulating methods of traditional musical research,enriching theories of singing of national vocal music and improving the author's attainments in singing.This thesis first analyzes the formation and development of Kangbanuoer song-and-dance duet.It was formed on the basis of the unique human geographic elements and the unrestrained policies and the economic boom.The growth and development of Kangbanuoer song-and-dance duet has been slow because it was developed from a spontaneous activity of the masses to entertain themselves.Thanks to the efforts of generations of artists,Kangbanuoer song-and-dance duet is now improving day by day.Then the thesis makes a thorough analysis of the particular stylistic features of Kangbanuoer song-and-dance duet from the perspectives of the theme,the origin of song repertoire,the classification of the tunes of an aria,the musical scale,the mode and the accompaniment,etc..The conclusion is that Kangbanuoer song-and-dance duet observes the general rules of the melody of folk songs and combines with Bashang dialect.The tune of paizi is the passionate instrumental music played by the band alone.It originated from the tunes of Mongol and Han folk songs,traditional festivities,or Shanxi opera.In addition,the tune of an aria of Kangbanuoer song-and-dance duet has the characteristics of being pure, unconstrained,simple,and impenetrable.Based on the basic tunes,artists of Kangbanuoer song-and-dance duet have created many ways of handling tunes according to their own aesthetic sentiment and physical conditions,such as the pitch, the timber,the compass of voice.The flexibility of the tunes creates different artistic flavors.The author makes suggestions concerning the scientific practice of vocalization of the performers of Kangbanuoer song-and-dance duet.The thesis finally summarizes the characteristics of speech sound of Kangbanuoer song-and-dance duet:the use of the ancient entering tone in the present dialect,the confusion of the high and level tone and the rising tone,of the front and back nasal sounds,of the domal and non-domal sounds,and the lack of vowels in some cases.
