Baudrillard, Consumer Society Theory

Jean Bardrillard is one of the well-known contemporary French philosophers in the world, who engaged in consumption society study.He makes a good contribution to the development of postmodernism. So Baudrillard is regarded as the leader of the postmodernism study. After 1980's, Baudrillard becomed a worldwide outstanding theorist due to his postmodernism discourse. Baudrillard's theory of consumer research will help us to compared to other post-modern thinking so as to grasp the characteristics of post-moodern thought. I read Baudrillard's theory of consumer society systematically based on the book .the main study is his consumer theory. There are four parts from the content. The first part briefly puts forward the theory of consumer society background. I inspect Baudrillard's theoretical origin from the historical background and ideolgical background and point out the meaning of Consumer society.The second part is deeply excave the consumer society of Baudrillard'theory. This article induces the consume society'characteristic and implemental way from the Baudrillard's work ,Further explain why the Baudrillard defined the modern society as the consumer society and consumer society is how to achieve.The third part carries on the appraisal to the Baudrillard'scomsumer society theory. This article analysises from its theory's rationality and the limited. The rationality is: The Baudrillard rethinked the consumer issues from symbolic point and pointed out the mark society has created people's consumer behavior disassimilation; The limitation is that he overemphasized the consumer's mark significance, thus neglected the existence of the main consumer, and finally caused his thought tendency of technical pessimism.The fourth part is Baudrillard's consumer society theory how to enlight our country. Baudrillard paid attention to the question of mark consumer,mass media which has increasingly become the focal attention and hot of Western society. with our country's modernization advancement's quickening, these questions also have started appearing in our country society .Therefore, Baudrillad's theory of consumer research will help us to grasp the contemporary the time characteristic and carry on the resonsideration to it..Baudrillard ,as a social criticism of postmodern theorists and thinkers, his academic research shows concerm and worry about the fate of humanism and social development in the period of great change in the community. Therefore, this paper tries hard to systematically explain Baudrllard consumer society culture theory basic content, as we attempts to understand the practical problems and deal with a useful reference.
