Studies on Chinese ancient books and book annotations are important in book compiling. This thesis will take Notes and Interpretations of Spring and Autumn Annals of Yan Zi,which is written by Mr.Lu Shouzhu,as the objective of our study, and try to make our own improvements on the texts and notes made by Mr.Lu through textual research and comparison with other scholars' comments. Our chief references would be Annotations on Spring and Autumn Annals of Yan Zi written by Mr.Wu Zeyu and studies of other present-day scholars. This thesis consists of five chapters.Chapter One is the introduction, which mainly introduces the version and compiling as well as current research situation of The Spring and Autumn Annals of Yan Zi.In Chapter Two,some divergences among studies of different scholars that we have found will be offered and analyzed, mainly through comparison between Mr.Lu's interpretations and annotations from other scholars, and our own explanations and improvements would then be proposed.Meanwhile, meanings in the context will be given much consideration during the process of analyzing.Chapter Three mainly focuses on sentence partitioning(i.e."å¥è¯»" in Chinese, which mainly including punctuations, pauses and caesuras, etc.) of Mr.Lu's Notes and Interpretations of Spring and Autumn Annals of Yan Zi.And based on the divergences and ambiguities found existing among different studies of Spring and Autumn Annals of Yan Zi, we will propose our point of view with appropriate argumentation.Meanwhile, our explanations will emphasize from both semantic and grammatical aspects.Chapter Four is the emendation part.As an ancient book recording words and deeds of Yan Zi,The Spring and Autumn Annals of Yan Zi has long been deemed by some people an apocrypha ever since Liu Zongyuan of Tang Dynasty exclaimed certain Confucian-Mohism arguments about this book, which in some degree would profile existence of different versions of this ancient work. However, some textual misinterpretations of the book will inevitably appear due to the agelong history of the book.As far as our research is concerned,Mr.Lu's Notes and Interpretations of Spring and Autumn Annals of Yan Zi actually represents his findings of emendations on the book, and the emendation in Chapter Four is our research on Mr.Lu's emendation.According to our analysis,it has been found that in Mr.Lu's findings, there are either some resolved issues that he has not pointed out, or some deficiencies that still needs further improvements. Our emendation will work on such issues to try to offer reasonable explanations for them.Chapter Five is the epilogue. |
