Monastery, the exterior form of religion, contains the beliefs, believers and religion sentiment. The nun groups not only belonged to religious research field, but also the focus of our society. This paper previously states on the history and status quo of brag g-yung drung kha nun monastery which located in zung chu County, Sichuan province. The Bonpo religion's history in zung chu, organization and mechanism of monastery, religion festivals and so on, will be the focus for this research This thesis based on the previous researches of this topic, meanwhile, combined with the first hand materials by using the culture anthropologic and sociologic perspective to discuss the status and role the nuns play.The whole paper divided into six parts.Chapter one, which is the introduction part of this paper, mainly states the purposes and intentions,and the methods, research planning, research conditions and the difficulties may confront. Meanwhile, the status quo of this topic related researches will be mentioned and summarized.Chapter two introduces the history of Bonpo religion in zung chu, and also about the background for nun's appearing. Section one discusses the history of Bonpo religion's development, which concerns most on the zung chu area. Section two states the main Bonpo Religion monasteries in zung chu.Chapter three, the history of brag g-yung drung kha Nun Monastery, mainly discusses its development and its founder.Chapter four, the brag g-yung drung kha Nun Monastery in Modern Times, divided into four parts which separately introduced the organizations and mechanisms, the main source of its economy income, the religion festivals and the short introduction of its Present Masters of this nun monastery.Chapter five mainly focuses on the Bonpo nuns who compared with the nuns of Tibetan Buddhism from the perspectives of the procedure to be a nun, nun's economic income, nun's culture life and the influence of Bonpo nun monastery.Chapter six, the conclusion part, discusses the special status of nun groups and their contributions to the development of Bonpo Culture.
