Ming Dynasty In Northern Border Early Warning System

The Ming Dynasty has more trouble in the border regions in the Chinese history, which enables Ming government to pay great attention to the border defense construction .The border defense early -warning system is the important constituent in the border defense system. Which is composed of two parts: Sentry post system and Beacon system . Regarding to the beacon system,the academic circles has little systematic research, To the sentry post system ,there are few researches into the problem of it.and for some problems still has fuzzy understanding. Therefore, the study into this problem not only can add something to research literature but also probe into the true history. In this paper, the author chose three main aspects connected the early-warning system—the sentry post system, the beacon system , the early warning system action process, the function and characteristic. Through use of local chronicle, the historical records literature and pictures, and the utilization history theory and the method. The paper will elaborate the ealy-warning system in the north of the Ming systemtically.In details, the paper discusses from the following four aspects:First, the introduction part mainly introduced the present situation about the early wanning system of The Ming Dynasty, pointed out the shortcomings of the previous research: more using the historical geography research methods, and reflects stronger regional characteristics, and there are also some errors for the intelligence officers.Second, The Ming Dynasty's beacon system.The beacon is completed through the pillar Taiwan which installed at the border and the abdominal. This part includes four aspects:The methods of setting pier, the form of pier, the staffing and the management. The most feature of The Ming Dynasty's pier is flexibility. And The Ming Dynasty has been formed a complete system, which can reflected form the management settings and other policies.Third, The Ming Dynasty's sentry post system. This part is composed of two aspects :the composition and management of intelligence personnel. The academic circle always defines the "Yebushou" simply as the spy, this part will disabuse the from time space and functions.Forth, Conclusion. This part includes three aspects: the early warning system action process, the early warning system function and the Ming Dynasty early warning system characteristic. The Ming Dynasty's sentry is the basis of the early-warning mechanism. The main early-warning way is beacon system. They coordinate with each other to complete the whole warning process. When invaded, this mechanism made garrison force combat-ready and took the initiative. Furthermore, it cloud gain time for the military disposition of the frontier force. Meanwhile, it is of positive significance to safeguarding the life and property of the people along the border. Although it successes the results of former generation, reflects its own characterics, The shorter distance of construction pier, The more perfect beacon order, and every aspects reflect the flexibility.
