Simian-Lu, the renowned historian in Chinese history, is just like a radiant pearl shining in Chinese academic circle. He has made important contributions for the development of Chinese modern academic. He does not flaunt any school, but has a distinctive style. Relatively speaking, for quite a long time, the scholars takes Chen Yuan, Chen Yinque, Qian Mu et seriously, but makes little effort on Lu .This Phenomenon is extremely unsymmetrical compared with Lu's contribution.The historical Academic circle urgently needs to strengthen the research of history achievements on Lu, particularly on his history thought. It is quiet positive to Grasps the characteristic and the essence of his history thought, because we can inherit and carry forward it well .And also we can grasped the vein of 20th century Chinese history development scientifically and advance the present history development. Therefore, this article tries to make a further research on Lu's history thought on the basic of the achievements the educational world had gained, and makes efforts to expanse its content, although it could not fully comprehensive.The full text divides into four parts, the first part elaborate Lu's history achievement and his history origin. The second part and the third part elaborate his conception of history and his history methodology from two angles, and these two parts are the core of this article which are the major parts the author discusses emphatically. The fourth part appraisals Lu's history thought.The major points of this article includes:First, Lu's history thought origins from the deep Chinese national culture foundation, and influenced by the time circumstances. Second, as to the conception of history, Lu formed an evolutionary history viewpoint, but Marxism's historical materialism has certain influence to his view of history. Third, Lu defined "history"- as Knowledge from several aspects, such as: its object, its scope, its content, its duty and so on. All these are basically correct only when he reveled the reasons why history evolutes. His analysis was strained in its causal relationship. The economic reasons that hided behind the causal relationship has not been discussed. Fourthly, Lu's conception of history's social function. He thought history can help us to understand the present and predict the future, its also can provide reference and helps of practical use etc. Fifth, Lu thought that the history is constantly rewritten. Sixth, Lu critic the shortcomings of the old history and considered that one of the shortcomings of the old history is it focused on politics. Also it biased towards the military, worshiped hero excessively. And it inspired too much Patriotism and nationalism. And also it often went against "true history" by emphases its moral maintaining function. These shortcomings should be abandoned, otherwise it will hinder history develop healthily.Seventh, Lu proposed that historians should be rich of history knowledge and his spirit should be of higher quality. Doing history study should take a gradual process. Before compiling a history book, historians must collect materials as much as possible. As to the method of research history, he proposed that historians should value ordinary people and affairs . If he doesn't know the wind destruction, he mustn't know the landslide. He said no one would really know a hill without probing its rule. True historian should use scientific point as his guide and should reject preinstalled prejudice, and should pay attention to the difference from learning and academic. Also, he should know how to make use the method of Chinese and foreign historical comparison to do his research, and so on.
