Leopold Godowsky is known as a famous pianist and composer during late 19th and early 20th century. His finger condition were not very excellent, however, his playing were incomparable. How did he manage this? The <<53 studies on etudes of Frederic Chopin and other Chopin arrangements by Godowsky>> reveals the answer to us. Based on classifying and analyzing his edition of Chopin's Etude, this thesis is going to discuss his unique way of technique training and his emphasize on thinking coordination. Godowsky's rearrangement of Chopin's etude not only enlightens the piano education, but also becomes very good repertoire, as he includes gorgeous skills while keeping most of Chopin's original taste. Therefore, it is very meaningful for piano performing. Nevertheless, his work hasn't been widely accepted in China. So I hope this thesis could obtain more attention from educators and artists of piano.
