| This essay focuses on the Spanish painter Jean Miro, who created many works throughout his life, referring different materials and involved in different art styles. His style is glamorous and powerful in expression. Early works of him were influenced by Paul Cezanne, Vincent Van Gogh and cubism, but later he began to form his own style of art, and his skill of painting come to be more mature. His unique use of subconscious symbols not only enriched the painting elements, but also perfected the expression of painting language. Another successful achievement of him is his combined use of similar-in-form painting languages, this undoubtedly offer more flexibility to the expression of art. Study on his symbolized painting language is a valuable beginning point, through which we see items and processes that influenced the foundation of such poetically-symbolized art language. And based on Miro's art practice, the author also analyzed meaning of symbolized art language, briefly illustrated the concept of "lyric" in modern French art comments. After reviewing art theorists' comments on Miro's style in early 20th century, the author concluded that Miro's works reflect a viewpoint that art is kind of a physical form of poetry, a specific expression of poetry, especially for those special and characteristic symbolized painting language.On study of Miro's art, this essay aims to clarify development of Miro's art creation, reach a profound and clear understanding of Miro's art concept, and thus properly position Miro's contribution to modern art. |
