The East-west Aesthetic Impact On Modern Packaging Design

Packaging design is the important part of Human being's culture activities, and it represents of human intellect and the aesthetic justice of the positive and creative act. I researched and analysised the in-depth reasons of form which base on East-West aesthetic concept of the historical and cultural background. As the different views of East-West Artistic value, those different effects in each design field were produced. Here I introduced a number of important East-West aesthetic concepts and focused on how they are realized in packaging design now adays, and I also concluded their character. In this thesis I sumed up the situation of Chinese modern packaging design, and discussed the future of packaging design. The purpose and motivation of writing the thesis is to improve Chinese packaging design with our oriental aesthetic faculties. We can understand the reason why the unique aesthetic style of Oriental Art has been retained in China for more than 2,000 years is constant absorption, melting and innovation.
