Chinese Traditional Patterns In The Modern Poster Design

The traditional Chinese pattern is the rime of Chinese culture, and it displays precisely the aesthetic taste of Chinese people, while it is the carrier of Chinese humanistic spirit. With the time process, the change of history, the advancement of technology and materials, added in the elements of abextra culture, the Chinese traditional pattern develop variety of art forms. This colorful art form has become the indispensable design resource of modern posters. The appearance of traditional patterns in the modern handbills, imporves the cultural intension of these handbills.Firstly it defined the nature of the Chinese traditional pattern in this article (native ones included). With the analysis of development of the pattern, it summarized the style and characteristics of traditional pattern. Then a general classification by subjects was made. Secondly through the analysis of specific examples, the exhibition and application of different subjects was found, and concluded as below:1. Chinese traditional pattern is the significant treasure in Chinese traditional culture. It manifests the unique traditional attraction with time goes by. There are many sorts of subjects. The rich and marvelous culture is the basis of modern handbill and enlarges it as well.2. Through the detailed analysis of the application of the Chinese traditional patterns in the modern handbills, this article summarises the rule as an adbihition of "shape" and "meaning", moreover, it analyses that the new ideas have been born in the adbihition from two perspectives which are "shape" and "meaning" respectively.
