"bai Hu Tong" Ethical System And Its Modern Significance

This paper takes "Baihu Tong" as the research object, quoting other Confucian classics as the proof. It summarizes the Confucian ethics system which "Baihu Tong" describes and its positive sense to the construction of the harmonious society. The conference of "Baihu Tong" was managed by the Eastern Han Dynasty to unify the Confucian study. Bangu made a collection named "Baihu Tong" recording the result of the conference. "Baihu Tong" was personally examined by the emperor, thus was always considered has the significance of a statute book. And it synthesizes the two Confucian theories, and the Dong Zhongshu's saying of masculine and feminine elements and five elements as well as the divination book. It officially summarized the family ethics system and the political social system which the Confucian classics involved. Therefore "Baihu Tong" is an extremely good text from which the later generation studies the Confucian human relationship system. And its existence is helpful for the modern society to track down the human relationship's origination. The great content of the Confucian ethics system has the extremely positive practical significance to the modern harmonious society's discussion and construction. And the purpose of the paper is tracing about the great content of the Confucian ethics system from "Baihu Tong".
