Project Sealing to Preserve, started at the beginning of 2006 as my long term project to preserve the objects in my life. The arrival of the age of consumerism deprives man of the nostalgia based on objects, in which everything is updated and quality is replaced with efficiency. Hence comes my reflection on the value of objects and their relation to their background. Consequently, every object around me now is sure to be proof for my recollections in the future. They not only characterize the time, but also prove that I choose them to be the background for all that belongs to me.Project Sealing to Preserve at China Central Academy of Fine Arts is the second step of the Project Sealing to Preserve. Develop the concept from a personal behavior to a public behavior, seal the objects which are collected from the public into cement brick, when they are represented in the simplest way—the objects themselves with their value and their forms are kept in snowy white plaster—to call forth people's reflection on themselves and on everything around.Originally there's no essential combination between personal objects and public space. The effects to install the cement bricks, which are bearing the personal emotion in public space, are multilayered. The text introduce the whole process of the Project Sealing to Preserve.
